One of the most common questions we receive from our customers is the leakage problem, which some believe is a manufacturing defect in the device, and therefore requires a return and sending another device!

But the truth is that this problem is considered one of the usage problems that appear with use and is likely to occur with all devices, especially large vape devices, and it can be solved permanently or in an acceptable way. Let us review with you the causes and solutions to the problem of flavor leakage and Spitback.

But first, we would like to differentiate between the problem of flavour leakage or smuggling from vape devices and the problem of flavour coming out of the pod or tank into the mouth during use.

Causes and solutions for flavor leakage from vape devices

1. The rubber seal is not closed properly, especially in devices that are locked from the bottom. Unfortunately, it is normal for the flavour to leak out due to gravity.
2. Not filling the tank completely, as filling the tank completely leads to flavour leakage, especially in pour-ohm devices with a rubber lock that is not closed tightly and completely.
3. Not replacing the coil regularly, as damage to the coil leads to damage to the rubber rings that prevent leakage, which in turn leads to leakage.
4. Not using the right flavors with the right coil increases the chance of coil damage and thus leakage.
5. Do not overuse the vape, as excessive use increases the temperature of the tank and coil and leads to damage to the coil, in addition to damage to the tank, changing its features, and creating a vacuum that increases the leakage rate.
6. In general, devices that fill the tank from the bottom are more prone to leakage than those that fill from the top.
7. Make sure that the tank glass is intact and not broken, as it may break due to falling or exposure to high temperatures.

Causes and solutions for the flavor coming out of the pod or tank to the mouth ( spitback )

1. Filling the pod completely will cause the flavor to leak into the pod opening, and thus the flavor will come out when you pull without being vaporized.
2. Use the appropriate pod or coil with the appropriate flavor, as this affects the process of burning and evaporating the flavor, and thus it is not completely evaporated and comes out in the form of a spray or liquid flavor. With vape flavors (low nicotine), it is recommended to use a resistance of 0.6 or less. With salt flavors (high nicotine), it is recommended to use a resistance of 0.8 or higher.
3. Use low wattage with vape flavors, as vape flavors are manufactured to work with high wattage and a certain combustion rate, low wattage generates insufficient energy for the vaping process
4. Make sure that the area between the device and the pod is clean and free of any dust or liquid insulation, because this layer creates a barrier for the conductors between the device and the pod and affects the evaporation process.
5. Charge the battery before use. When the battery is not charged well, the output wattage is not as required and thus the evaporation process is not completed completely.
6. Do not pull too hard, as pulling too hard in some devices makes it difficult for the pod to vaporize the liquid sufficiently and thus part of the flavor comes out into the mouth.
7. Reduce the airflow, in some devices it is possible to control the air ratio, when it is opened completely with long puffs the pod becomes unable to evaporate this amount of liquid and thus the evaporation process does not take place well
8. Increase the wattage if this option is available in your device, as the leakage of flavor is evidence that the evaporation process is not going well. Increase the wattage increases the combustion and evaporation capacity and solves the problem.
9. Do not put too much flavour on the new coil when using it for the first time. As is known, it is preferable to put flavour on the coil before installing it in the device so that it absorbs the flavour and extends the life of the coil. Putting large quantities may leak into the internal parts of the coil and it will become difficult to evaporate it during vaping.
10. Using an external mouthpiece reduces the amount of flavor returned based on the experiences of many of our customers.

The harms of flavor leakage or spitback in electronic hookah devices

There are no potential health risks from the flavour entering the mouth because it is in small, negligible quantities, but it gives an uncomfortable feeling, especially due to the taste or the hot temperature sometimes. In some cases, its large amount may cause nausea, but there is nothing really worrisome.

But the damage resulting from the leakage of flavor to the internal parts of the device is considered a dangerous thing and leads to damage to the device after a while. As we know, any liquid is a dangerous enemy to electronic devices as it works as an insulating layer or an unwanted conductor and affects the operation of the electrical parts and thus stops the device from working.

Therefore, we advise you to follow the instructions for reducing the leakage rate and to work on cleaning any leakage that occurs between the pod and the device continuously, otherwise the result will be a complete failure of the device. This failure is not considered a manufacturing defect, but rather misuse by the customer.
