Quality and workmanship
SMOK's G-PRIV 3 is the latest addition to the previous G-PRIV series. Each generation has introduced new settings, innovative features and revolutionary tanks.
The G-PRIV 3 contains an advanced chipset for faster response and ease of use than previous models. You can also program your own profiles and even enable a password to lock the device!
SMOK is a big player in the vape market. And they export a lot of products, which are considered the best sellers every year. This can include coils, tanks, pens, capsules, as well as conventional devices. Most devices are excellent for new users who love flavor and steam. Some of my personal favorites from SMOK are the FETCH MINI Pod and MAG P3.
the device
The G-PRIV 3 is an advanced regulator device that measures 85mm x 54mm x 28mm. On the front is a huge 2.4-inch color screen. Settings can be navigated easily by touch. For me I found the touch screens to be somewhat responsive and much better than similar devices I've tested. The G-PRIV 3 also has a convenient lock/unlock button, similar to most smartphones.
The G-PRIV 3's body is made of strong zinc alloy material, while the panels are made of smooth acrylic. All the different styles and colors that are currently available look very stylish.
The edges have a nice slant that makes the device comfortable in hand.
It runs on a double 18650 battery. This allows the G-PRIV 3 to produce up to 230W of power, with a resistance range from 0.1Ω to 2.5Ω.
The updated IQ-G chip improves on the previous settings, while adding some new settings as well.
The preset power level function has been reinstated with four different modes to choose from. I think it's great for users who want a quick and simple way to change their power curves.
Also, when a new coil is installed, the SMOK G-PRIV 3 can automatically estimate the correct wattage output.
On the side, there is a relatively large longitudinal strip that acts as a burning button similar to the traditional button. The button is located on the top section of the plastic strip and can be pressed easily, while the bottom section requires more pressure. It has a nice click and responds within 0.001 seconds.
At the bottom is a USB Type-C charging port that provides faster charging compared to the traditional Micro USB port. Although I always recommend charging your batteries externally.
